Four Moves to Try Since You Already Binged Watched All of Your Netflix Shows "Shelter at Home" Workouts with Coach Marc Santos
So we are coming up on the third week (wait, is it the third week??) of what seems to be the start of the zombie apocalypse.
I don’t know how much you have been thinking about “working out” (I know I haven’t given it a ton of thought), but what I do know is moving around does seem to take my mind off of all the madness that’s happening around me and on the news.
With that in mind, I decided to move around a bit today.
But nothing really that formal, meaning I didn’t have any outlined workout with sets, reps, or a regiment of exercises. I just decided to move my body.
So today, if you want to do the same, here are four movements to try since you probably have sh*t else to do besides look at the other person in your house and pretend to ask them how they’re day has been, as if you weren’t there for EVERY minute of it.
Sit Throughs
This is a fun one. And to be completely honest, I don’t know what they are “officially” called.
I just tend to give exercises or movements the most obvious, and pragmatic name based on what it is I am doing EXACTLY.
For these, it seems as if I am “sitting through” – hence the name.
Give these a try. See if you can do them. If you can maybe do them a few times to get the hang of it.
Reverse Tabletop to Crossbody Toe Touch
Ok, look…I didn’t name this one.
This one comes from yoga (at least the “reverse tabletop” part) I just added the crossbody toe touch (See! Pragmatic AF).
I chose to do the toe touch mostly because there is NO WAY my shoulders are letting me get into a full reverse tabletop…you kidding me.
Give this one a try too, and see if you can pull it off.
Tall Plank to Crossbody Toe Touch
This is a favorite of mine. I really liked doing this before a bench press session. Really opens up my shoulders and back while also allowing me to incorporate some stability into those same areas.
Don’t fall on your face…please.
Twisting Bear
This sounds like a move from Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, but I got this one from Gold Medal Bodies (GMB). Shout out to my homie Rose (GMB lead instructor)!!
GMB has a number of movement programs that I feel are great for a lot of people.
If you want to check out more of their stuff see it HERE.
This one is from one of their movement courses, and I like this one just because it feels good.
Try it and let me know what you think.
If you made it this far and spent a good 10 to 15 minutes moving around on the ground, WELL DONE! Feel free to hit me up on my Facebook Page and let me know how you did!
Until next time…don’t be that person that hoards ALL the toilet paper 😉
